About This Position
Employee Relations Specialist
SUMMARY: SUMMARY: The Employee Relations Specialist supports, advises, develops and consults with leadership and employees using the knowledge, skills and pragmatic approaches needed to address an array of common HR issues. Supports regulatory, legal and administrative HR processes, provides project management support to various HR strategies and departmental administrative support. The Employee Relations (ER) Specialist investigates all types of employment complaints and provides proactive recommendations to leadership on employee relations issues. Fosters a positive work environment through full compliance with NKC Health policies and state and federal employment law.
EXPERIENCE: Five years of professional human resource administration, including three years in employee relations, strongly preferred OR its equivalent through training, education, and other experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to comprehend, interpret,and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Thorough understanding of local, state and federal laws. Demonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment with strong judgment and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate with leaders, employees, and HR team members.
OTHER: Ability to remain tactful, calm, and persuasive in controversial and/or confrontational situations. Advanced communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in basic business acumen and conflict resolution. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
LICENSE/CERT: Preferred: SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP (Society of HR Management - Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional)
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - Business, Bachelors - Human Resources, Bachelors - Related Field
