Job Description

The Field Services Technician is a vital role which represents Flexible Lifeline Systems in a professional and courteous manner to our clients during the consultation, inspection, and repair of existing engineered safety systems and the related equipment.

Job Responsibilities

The Field Services Technician performs essential tasks required to fulfill needs of customers to ensure that existing engineered safety systems and equipment are compliant, functional, and maintained for continued use. Duties and tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Represent Flexible Lifeline Lines in a professional and courteous manner
  • Inspect, repair (as needed), and certify various engineered safety systems.
  • Repair systems as necessary based on findings from inspection services
  • Be the on-site liaison between the customer and the Field Service Project Manager
  • Complete required documentation as necessary for the services provided
  • Inspect, repair (as needed), and certify various engineered safety systems.
  • Offer post service recommendations for other services offered by Flexible Lifeline system which are system upgrades, equipment upgrades, training and other relevant services
  • Maintain a pre-determined level of parts and tools in the assigned service van
  • Accurately complete and process applicable paperwork related to the services provided
  • Communicate with the Field Service Advisor any action items that might be required during or post inspection
  • Comply with all applicable safety protocols set forth by the customer
  • Meet schedules as set forth by the customer and Field Services Project Manager
  • Investigate and look for other areas of safety deficiency within the customer site and generate leads that the Sales Department can follow-up on
  • Up-sell or make upgrade recommendations to the customer based on findings from the initial inspection service
  • Extensive travel up to 95% - driving (regionally) or flying (nationwide), or international as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • 5 years of construction or industrial type work
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background checks to obtain access to various customer sites
  • Must be able to read, understand and implement product engineering drawings
  • Must have a working knowledge of general installation and measuring tools
  • Must be able to understand written or verbal instructions
  • Communicate well with others verbally
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Ability to work in industrial environments and on rooftops/heights
  • Ability to travel up to 95% - driving (regionally) or flying (nationwide), or international as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Mathematical and Reasoning skills:

  • Basic math skills are required
  • Must be able to apply common sense to multi-step instructions
  • Must be able to follow task out to completion
  • Must be able to perform in standard situations with little or no guidance
  • Must be able to pay close attention to detail

Computer skills:

Basic knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet
