Position Information
The Veteran Resource Center Coordinator performs a variety of specialized duties involved in coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Veterans Resource Center (VRC); serves as liaison between student veterans, Department of Veteran Affairs and the College's academic divisions, counseling departments and administrative offices to assure special needs of veterans and dependents are met; provides advisory and other services for veterans and dependents. The Coordinator will advance knowledge of and awareness about UCR's diverse veteran community and will develop new programming that will address issues of diversity, equity and inclusion. The incumbent works in conjunction with the Director, supervising Student Staff, assessing the staff and unit’s needs. This position will supervise the Student Staff ensuring that there is quality programming and collaborative partnerships across campus and the surrounding community. The Coordinator advocates for the well-being of students, with a specific focus on student veterans. This position regularly travels to surrounding military installations and community colleges, conducting outreach. Experienced professional with skills in advising and in-depth understanding of the educational field in dealing with military connected students; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. Using knowledge and skills as a seasoned, experienced Student Services professional, performs the full range of duties and responsibilities within a veteran centric space. Assesses situations and determines appropriate action or referral. Performs other related duties as may be assigned.The full salary range for the Program Coordinator for the Veteran's Resource Center is $57,700 - $99,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $68,100 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Preferred Qualifications Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Thorough knowledge of issues affecting Veterans and/or the Military Connected Student community.
