About This Position

Description:

Summary

Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of tasks in support of personnel activities. Assist in handling inquiries and providing information to employees regarding policies, benefits, forms, records and practices. Maintains personnel system database, group insurance/benefit information, assists in new hire orientations, and with the payroll process. May conduct employment interviews. Provides consistent, high quality customer service to all bank personnel by acquiring human resources, employee benefits and payroll knowledge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Performs a wide variety of tasks in support of personnel activities relating to: employee benefits, payroll issues, paid time off leave, leaves of absence, job posting, 401(k) plan, recruiting and selection documentation, interviewing, performance reviews, COBRA, employment laws.
  2. Utilizes and ensures HRIS system meets business needs (enters daily information, maintains and updates HR information in the system, etc.)
  3. Prepares new hire files and paperwork; prepares termination materials.
  4. Assists in new hire orientation on employees’ first day, to ensure understanding of basic policies and procedures, overview of the benefit programs.
  5. Administers the performance review programs (schedules and distributes performance review forms, monitors returned forms; distributes personnel change notice to supervisors)
  6. Prepares wage-earning requests and employment verification form
  7. Responds to manager and employee, or outside customer requests, escalating complex issues to Supervisor as needed.
  8. Provides employee benefit orientation to employees and ensure employees enroll within designated time period.
  9. Assists in updating and maintaining the Employee Handbook.
  10. Maintains current and relevant knowledge of issues and laws relating to personnel and the banking industry, such as employment laws, wage and hour issues, employee benefits, leaves of absence, affirmative action, COBRA.
  11. Processes COBRA notices to ensure compliance with legal issues. Maintain knowledge as laws change to ensure compliance.
  12. Performs clerical duties related to HR recordkeeping, such as preparation of a variety of reports, personnel file maintenance, etc.
  13. Assists in completing yearly compliance training and testing and complies with bank, federal, and state regulations. Adheres to departmental and bank-wide service standards.
  14. Assists with payroll processing for VisionBank.
  15. Creates and maintains HR/Payroll standard operating procedures for VisionBank.
  16. Works with compliance department to log any bank training sessions.
  17. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Prior experience with payroll, benefits administration and HRIS systems is preferred.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Preferred knowledge in Payroll and HRIS software but not required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

SHRM or PHR Preferred but not required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Detail oriented, highly organized, flexible with a positive attitude, and team player.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to travel to all bank locations using own transportation.
