Position Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

QuesTec Mechanical is recruiting for a WAREHOUSE DRIVER / ASSISTANT for central Missouri. The Warehouse Driver/Assistant will report to work daily at our Columbia home office and deliver to our various job sites in central MO. The foremost responsibility of this position is to pick up and deliver product to job sites, and to perform warehouse activities to include materials pulling, staging, and loading/stocking of trucks. This is a full-time position based in Columbia. This position is a safety sensitive job, where the employee is responsible for and has the ability to impact their own safety as well as the safety of those around them. Therefore, all federal, state, and local laws regarding drug and alcohol use for safety sensitive jobs applies to this position.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Pull, organize and load job site materials for delivery from warehouse to construction sites
  2. Understand and adhere to safe handling and loading standards, using bracing, padding and proper strapping methods to prevent load shifting or damage
  3. Maximize efficient delivery routes and delivery time
  4. Assist job site employees in materials handling to ensure safety and proper handling of delivered materials
  5. Return and check in any job site materials that are unused/returned
  6. Operate company vehicles and equipment in a safe manner daily
  7. Provide courteous, customer-focused service to suppliers, vendors, general contractors and co-workers

SECONDARY DUTIES:

  1. Receives, verifies and counts incoming supplier shipments and field returns
  2. Operate a forklift with utmost care and safety
  3. Expertly assembles and loads materials onto vehicles for delivery/pick up
  4. Stocks materials with accuracy
  5. Monitors inventory levels and stock depletion
  6. Maintain warehouse and yard order, cleanliness and overall safety; properly removes pallets, cartons and other debris
  7. Hand delivers office packages to correct person/department
  8. Efficiently coordinates store pick-ups
  9. Orders materials in a cost-effective manner
  10. Files paperwork associated with role
  11. Works in cooperation with all co-workers as well as other trades and laborers to ensure that all materials are delivered or received without issue
  12. Accepts directives and guidance from the Warehouse Manager, Foreman and Field Supervisor
  13. Ensures efficient completion of all projects
  14. Available and willing to work overtime, as needed
  15. Maintains fleet vehicles with routine maintenance as well as scheduled repairs when needed
  16. Repairs trailers or other equipment
  17. Replaces spent or broken tools when necessary
  18. Assists other team members with other tasks that may be outside of the norm of the role of Warehouse Coordinator/Driver
  19. Participates in meetings, workshops, training and seminars as required
  20. Other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Current, valid CDL Class A license preferred
  2. Clean driving record
  3. Minimum of six months CDL driving experience
  4. Solid work history and attendance record
  5. OSHA 10 certification preferred
  6. Forklift experience/certification preferred
  7. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance
  8. Ability to understand and adhere to QuesTec’s strict safety guideline and daily practices
  9. Ability to follow a series of verbal and/or written instructions
  10. Working knowledge of stock control or inventory management practices preferred
  11. Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment
  12. Possess a customer-focused attitude and communication skill set
  13. Ability to maintain positive relationships with team members, vendors and customers
  14. Attention to detail and quality of work performed
  15. Ability to work independently, with excellent time management skills
  16. Good organizational skills
  17. Minimum of a high school diploma or GED

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on own
  2. Ability to push, pull, carry and maneuver heavy items (with additional manpower or appropriate tools)
  3. Ability to withstand long periods of sitting (while driving).
  4. Ability to stand, stoop, bend, twist and squat throughout day; this role requires long periods on the feet
  5. Ability to feel, grasp, operate and position items with fingers and hands
