About Beacon Kalamazoo
Beacon Kalamazoo provides 24/7 emergency care and a Level II Trauma Center. We deliver care for serious life-threatening injuries/illnesses, and your everyday health needs, including labor and delivery. We offer specialty care for heart/vascular disease, lung and sleep disorders, mental health conditions, and women’s health. We offer a wide range of outpatient services, including diagnostic imaging, lab tests, respiratory therapy and rehabilitation therapy services.
What You’ll Do
As a Supervisor, Centralized Referral Dept, you will report to the Manager, Centralized Referrals. Supervises and coordinates the daily workflow in the Referral Department to ensure accurate and efficient referral process. Motivates and requests suggestions from staff to meet the standards of service and improve department function. Schedules department staff ensuring equitable work and staff distribution and adjusts staffing to meet volume.
Supervisor Centralized Referral Dept Job Responsibilities
- Oversees daily referral operations, workflow, and system functionality to ensure accurate, efficient processing and high service standards.
- Adjusts staffing to meet volume demands while minimizing overtime and resolving operational issues.
- Maintains department documentation, QA reporting, and timely resolution of complaints.
Department Supervision
- Schedules, hires, trains, evaluates, and directs staff, ensuring equitable workload distribution and appropriate coverage, including on-call rotation.
- Maintains employee records, timekeeping, and departmental reporting in compliance with hospital policies.
Leadership
- Drives continuous improvement, staff accountability, and achievement of departmental goals.
- Ensures training, cross-training, regulatory compliance, and adherence to Medicare and medical necessity guidelines.
- Leads projects, policy development, and interdepartmental collaboration.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Monitors staffing, supplies, and equipment to control costs and support budget planning.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards, safety practices, required education, licensure, and scheduling flexibility as needed.
Required Qualifications
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one to two years of job-related experience is required.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
