We are searching for a Payroll Clerk (CG02/CG03) to join our team. The payroll clerk will process, maintain, and support the entire payroll lifecycle. This role will provide administrative and human resources support and will report to the Human Resources Associate. This role will be either a hybrid or in-office position out of our Irvine Office.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform payroll-related functions including but not limited to processing new hire timekeeping and payroll profiles, termination status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit
- Process multi-state bi-weekly payroll for over 150 employees
- Ensure correct federal and state tax withholdings are calculated, submitted, and monitored
- Review, audit, and post weekly timesheets and payroll data in a timely manner
- Meticulously calculate employee wages based on hours worked, pay rates, overtime pay, pay adjustments, and any other applicable deductions
- Prepare manual checks as necessary
- Oversee the maintenance of payroll records, calculations, and reports including but not limited to sick time and PTO (Paid Time Off) and other accrued leave
- Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments, and employment verifications
- Reconcile all payroll-related accounts and activities
- Generate and distribute payroll reports after completing each payroll cycle.
- Submit bi-weekly employee 401K contributions through the appropriate website portals.
- Assists with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive issues
- Oversee payroll-related activities related to benefits, retirement plans, COBRA continuation, workers’ compensation, and unemployment
- Maintain employee files and database
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Education and Experience
- 1 - 3 years of related payroll processing and timekeeping review experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in the full lifecycle of processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now
- Basic knowledge of California HR laws and regulations, including overtime pay, exempt status, meal and break laws, etc.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
In this role, you will frequently be required to sit for extended periods of time and continually need to use hand and finger dexterity. You will also need to talk and hear frequently, and utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read data and Excel reports, and use a computer keyboard. The work environment will be a standard office setting, with options for hybrid or in-office work.
Compensation
Hourly Pay: $23.33 – $27.44
