SUMMARY:
The PRODUCTION MANAGER oversees the manufacturing of all production personnel and operations. Responsible for running all production lines and the quality of products coming from those lines. Ability to direct personnel towards the production and safety goals for the plant. Decision-making and problem-solving take the maximum amount of time every day.
ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Plan production schedule and follow that schedule with production personnel.
- Decide the number of resources to be allocated to each job.
- Direct production and maintenance personnel to maintain all equipment.
- Monitor processes and adjust to maximize efficiency.
- Run the preventative maintenance system to ensure machine effectiveness.
- Work with all departments to maintain a flow of efficient jobs throughout the plant.
- Work with other managers and staff to implement company policies.
- Analyze data, make reports, and react to report data to run production.
- Review worker performance.
- Maintain training system and identify training needs.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly.
- Proficient with basic math and equations.
- Proficient with computers (Microsoft office suite, especially excel).
- Self-starter.
- Strong written and oral communication.
- Working knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple areas and tasks.
- Support weekend production coverage.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stoop, stand and walk; use hands to feel or handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
