Warehouse Operator in St. Louis, Missouri at Chemline INC

Purpose

The Warehouse Operator team member is responsible for supporting the efficient movement of materials throughout the facility by coordinating both shipping and receiving activities. This role ensures incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately, inventory and shipping supplies are maintained, and materials are safely handled to support production and customer deliveries. The Warehouse Operator employee works closely with Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service to maintain an organized, safe, and efficient operation.

Scope and Responsibilities

· Prepare, verify, and process incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring orders are accurate and shipped according to customer and carrier requirements.

· Receive, inspect, and unload incoming materials; document shortages or damaged goods and coordinate resolution with carriers or vendors.

· Operate forklifts, hand trucks, stretch wrap equipment, and other material handling equipment to safely move materials throughout the facility.

· Perform inventory transactions and shipping/receiving activities within the ERP system to maintain accurate inventory records and shipment tracking.

· Maintain adequate inventories of shipping supplies and materials, reporting inventory shortages or defective materials to the department supervisor.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.

· Retrieve raw materials from the warehouse using a forklift and stage them for production, ensuring materials are available to support manufacturing schedules.

· Provide batch makers with the raw materials needed for production, sequencing shared materials to minimize delays and maintain production efficiency.

· Stage raw materials for production and maintain inventory accuracy through proper material movement and inventory transactions.

· Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions in English, including safety rules, operating and maintenance procedures, manuals, and product recipes/material identifications, and communicate effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.

· Must have basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using units of weight, volume, and distance, and the ability to reason through problems involving standardized situations with limited variables.

· Must demonstrate manual dexterity to operate a variety of tools and equipment, including hand tools, scales, spatulas, drum carts, hand trucks, forklifts, utility knives, and mixer/blender machinery.

· Requires the knowledge and ability to operate multiple processes and equipment, including mixers, scales, and mills, and to manage multiple batches.

· Must have working knowledge of chemical and/or color ingredients and mixing processes.

· Requires a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience at management’s discretion).
