Community Engagement & Digital Media Manager

Position Summary

The Community Engagement & Digital Media Manager leads community outreach, partnership development, organizational representation, marketing, and digital communications. This role focuses on community engagement, networking, presentations, events, partnerships, social media, website content design, branding, marketing, and communications. Manage develops strategies, establishes measurable goals, coordinates resources and vendors as assigned, and reports results to leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Community Engagement, Partnerships & Representation

  • Develop, maintain, and expand strategic relationships with veteran organizations, nonprofits, employers, workforce agencies, educational institutions, healthcare and behavioral health providers, government agencies, and other community partners.
  • Represent the organization at meetings, networking events, conferences, resource fairs, employer events, veteran-focused events, panels, and other external functions.
  • Deliver presentations on the organization's mission, programs, services, impact, and partnership opportunities; develop related talking points and presentation materials.
  • Identify and pursue referral relationships, employer partnerships, collaborations, sponsorships, and outreach opportunities that increase awareness and access to services.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for designated partners; coordinate referrals, follow-up, and communication among veterans, participants, employers, service providers, and community stakeholders.
  • Track partnership activity, referrals, presentations, outreach results, and community feedback and recommend new opportunities to leadership.

Digital Media, Marketing, Website & Brand Management

  • Develop and manage the organization's digital marketing, social media, and content strategy, including a coordinated content calendar.
  • Create or coordinate professional content for social media, newsletters, email campaigns, blogs, videos, graphics, photographs, success stories, and other approved communications.
  • Manage public-facing website content, organization, design, and user experience; keep program, event, leadership, news, and other information accurate and current.
  • Maintain consistent organizational branding, messaging, visual standards, and marketing materials across digital and printed communications.
  • Develop and execute campaigns supporting programs, events, employer initiatives, veteran services, partnerships, fundraising, volunteer recruitment, and other organizational priorities.
  • Monitor website analytics, social media performance, audience growth, campaign results, and online inquiries and use findings to improve communications and engagement.

Events, Strategy & Management

  • Plan and coordinate outreach events, community presentations, employer forums, veteran resource fairs, open houses, conferences, and related promotion and follow-up.
  • Develop annual and periodic outreach, partnership, marketing, and digital communications goals and work plans aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Establish performance measures and prepare periodic leadership reports on partnerships, referrals, outreach, presentations, events, campaigns, website activity, and social media results.
  • Coordinate external marketing, website, design, printing, photography, video, or communications vendors and contractors as assigned.
  • Assist with designated outreach, marketing, event, or communications budgets and provide recommendations regarding expenditures and priorities.
  • Provide direction to interns, temporary staff, contractors, volunteers, or other personnel supporting outreach and communications projects when assigned.
  • Ensure public communications and outreach activities comply with organizational policies, confidentiality requirements, brand standards, and approval processes.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

.

  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in community engagement, partnership development, public relations, marketing, nonprofit services, workforce development, veteran services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing external partnerships, representing an organization publicly, delivering presentations, managing digital communications or websites, and coordinating outreach events or campaigns.
  • Management, project leadership, vendor coordination, or supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong public speaking, networking, relationship-building, written communication, and professional interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of veteran services, workforce development, community resources, nonprofit or human-service environments, and referral networks preferred.
  • Ability to independently develop strategies, establish priorities, manage multiple projects and stakeholders, and produce measurable results.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva or comparable design tools, major social media platforms, website content management systems, email marketing platforms, and digital analytics tools.
  • Ability to create or coordinate high-quality written, graphic, photographic, and video content and to analyze engagement and campaign performance.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when representing the organization and handling confidential or sensitive information.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

  • Ability to travel locally to meetings, presentations, events, and community partner locations.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and transport outreach and event materials up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events, presentations, conferences, and community activities.

  • Strategic partnerships established, maintained, and producing measurable collaboration, referrals, or employer opportunities.
  • Community presentations, outreach activities, events, and participant engagement outcomes.
  • Social media growth, reach, engagement, content performance, and campaign results.
  • Website accuracy, traffic, engagement, and completion of planned improvements.
  • Timely execution of marketing initiatives, content calendars, reporting, and follow-up activities.
  • Consistency and quality of organizational branding and public-facing communications.
