This role offers an opportunity to take ownership of complex claims operations within a fast-growing pet insurance and services environment. You will play a key leadership role in ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and high-quality claims handling across a distributed team. The position combines technical claims expertise with oversight responsibilities, including coaching adjusters, monitoring performance, and improving processes. You will contribute to shaping claims strategy while ensuring ethical, accurate, and efficient adjudication standards. Working in a mission-driven organization focused on pet well-being, you will help ensure customers receive fair and timely claims outcomes. In this role, you will oversee claims operations, ensuring compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across processes while supporting and guiding adjuster teams.
- Provide oversight for claims policies, processes, and operational practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Ensure all licensing, regulatory, and insurance requirements are met across adjuster activities.
- Monitor quality assurance outcomes and implement improvements to claims handling standards.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term operational strategies to improve efficiency and customer experience.
- Oversee ethics, licensing compliance, and professional conduct within claims operations.
- Support and guide team members through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Lead or contribute to complex claims projects and cross-functional operational initiatives.
- Assist in managing daily operations and act as a team lead when required.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance claims accuracy and service delivery.
This role requires extensive claims adjusting experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to lead operational teams in a complex insurance environment.
- Minimum 5–6 years of claims adjusting experience, including at least 3 years with a Level 3 Independent Adjuster License.
- Valid Level 3 Independent Adjuster License with eligibility for multi-jurisdictional licensing in Canada.
- Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience.
- CIP designation or completion of relevant insurance institute coursework is required or strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of property, liability, automobile, and bodily injury claims principles.
- Proven ability to manage complex claims processes and large-scale operational workflows.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or leading claims teams or adjusters.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume claims environment.
