PT Financial Aid Call Agent Specialist
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Functions
- Respond to financial aid inquiries via telephone, chat and email while providing excellent customer service. As needed, employee will send and receive postal mail.
- Makes outbound calls and emails to guide students who need assistance navigating through the financial aid process.
- Interpret financial aid regulations and educate students of their next steps.
- Review and scan financial aid documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and inform students if additional steps are needed.
- Assist staff in resolving complaints and issues with the financial aid process.
- Collaborate with the financial aid campus, district financial aid office and other college departments to provide services to students.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Federal Student Aid resources and policies including familiarity with the Federal Student Aid regulations
- Recommend and assist in establishing and implementing unit policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Capable of working independently with minimum supervision
- Familiarity with Individual Tax Returns
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite
- Available to work overtime, possibly weekends, if needed
Education and Experience:
Required Education:
Associate Degree, or high school diploma/equivalent and 3 additional years of office/customer services related experience
Required Experience:
2 years office/customer services related experience
Preferred Education:
Associate Degree or higher
Preferred Experience:
- One or more years of financial aid experience
- Proven working knowledge of IRS tax code
- Banner software experience
