- Lead the day-to-day operations of production Google Cloud Platform environments, ensuring high availability, reliability, and operational excellence across cloud infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and optimize monitoring, observability, alerting, and incident response processes while driving root cause analysis and continuous service improvements.
- Build and maintain infrastructure automation using Infrastructure as Code and scripting technologies to improve scalability, efficiency, and operational consistency.
- Develop operational standards, documentation, runbooks, and best practices that support long-term platform reliability and knowledge sharing.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, and security teams to implement secure, scalable cloud solutions while embedding operational readiness into new services.
- Establish cloud governance practices including capacity planning, cost optimization, resource management, and security controls aligned with compliance requirements.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend platform enhancements that improve performance, scalability, and long-term operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior engineers, promote technical excellence, and foster a collaborative culture focused on continuous learning and operational maturity.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles, including at least 4 years managing production Google Cloud Platform environments.
- Strong expertise with core GCP services including GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, IAM, VPC networking, Cloud Monitoring, and Cloud Logging.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and automation using Python, Go, or Bash.
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, and cloud-native deployment methodologies.
- Experience leading incident response, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing observability and performance monitoring solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, security best practices, identity management, cost optimization, and compliance-focused cloud architectures.
- GCP certifications such as Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security Engineer are highly valued.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, mentoring abilities, and the capacity to perform effectively in fast-paced, production-critical environments.
