Job Description
The Security Guard Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety and protection of people, property, and premises through vigilant monitoring and proactive response, both in-person and via security systems such as surveillance cameras. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining a secure environment by identifying and responding to potential threats, which may range from minor disturbances to serious incidents such as theft, harassment, or unauthorized access. Given the wide variety of settings and situations that require security, Security Officers must possess a versatile skill set tailored to the specific needs of the site they are assigned to. The ideal candidate will have strong situational awareness, effective communication skills, and the ability to remain calm and take appropriate action under pressure.
- Evicting trespassers and violators using no physical contact and by calling the police department to notify them of potential issues.
- Monitoring surveillance cameras to watch out for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to key leadership team members.
- Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company’s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
- Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols.
- Call police or fire department in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized trespassers.
- Escort or drive a motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified location or to provide personal escort.
- Maintain security of premises and have good safety management skills.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and other relevant laws to protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all communications.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the executive leadership and administration.
Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Patrolling minimum of 2 years’ experience
- Security guard license & security training
- Valid Driver’s License
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures
- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to solve problems as they arise and to react appropriately in stressful situations
- Proficient in written reports with outstanding reporting and surveillance skills
- Ability to follow complex instructions with good attention to detail
- Excellent judgment & communication
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Language Requirements
- Spanish speaking, preferred.
