The Irrigation Technician performs routine maintenance and repairs on the Association’s Hunter 2 wire irrigation system at Lakes of Mount Dora. The technician also assists staff and residents as directed by the Lead Irrigation Technician and Community Association Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors and tests the irrigation system and observes pipe and valve replacements
- Assists with irrigation system operations and repairs during technician absences or periods of heavy seasonal workload
- Works independently and takes initiative
- Monitors lake water levels and retention pond operations monthly
- Reports to and follows direction from the Lead Irrigation Technician
- Performs other general maintenance tasks as directed by the Community Association Manager (CAM)
- Provides general maintenance support as needed
- Responds to after-hours emergency calls as directed by the CAM, a Board member, or Leland Management
Core Objectives:
- Promptly completes minor repairs identified through observation or work orders
- Performs routine preventive maintenance according to established checklists and reports completion status
- Maintenance of Hunter ACC 2 controllers
- Maintenance of Hoover Pump Stations
- Completes written work orders accurately
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Proactively identifies maintenance, repair, and cleaning needs
- Working knowledge of trenchers, multimeters, ditchers, and pipe sizing
- Works effectively with supervisors, coworkers, suppliers, and customers
- Knowledge of and experience with minor mechanical repairs, including the safe use of hand-operated power tools
- Valid Florida driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a standard drug screening
- Ability to complete written work orders, maintenance reports, and logs accurately
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate'
- At least two years of irrigation experience
Physical Requirements:·
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use ladders, reach overhead, and work outdoors
