Donlin Gold is seeking a motivated, hardworking, and safety-focused Field Technician to join our Exploration team in Western Alaska. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting exploration activities at one of the world’s largest undeveloped gold deposits while working in a dynamic remote field environment.

The Field Technician supports exploration and field operations through drill support, site preparation, equipment operation, trail and drill pad construction, environmental support activities, and general field maintenance. Working closely with geologists, drilling personnel, and exploration teams, this role plays an important part in maintaining safe and efficient field operations while supporting project objectives.

What You'll Do

Field Operations Support

• Support drilling and exploration programs through a variety of field and operational activities
• Assist with site preparation activities and work area setup
• Support construction and maintenance of drill pads, trails, roads, and access routes
• Assist with waterline distribution and water well maintenance activities
• Perform general labor and field support tasks as assigned

Equipment Operation and Site Support

• Operate Company equipment safely and effectively, if qualified, including:
  • Skid steers
  • Dozers
  • Excavators
  • Morookas
  • Other field equipment as needed
• Perform routine inspections and safety checks on assigned equipment and tools
• Assist with maintaining equipment and work areas in safe operating condition

Environmental and Operational Support

• Assist with site reclamation and restoration activities
• Support spill response and remediation activities
• Help maintain clean, organized, and environmentally responsible work areas
• Support field operations and changing operational priorities as needed

Safety and Teamwork

• Complete pre-shift inspections and field-level risk assessments
• Participate in safety meetings and follow established safety procedures
• Maintain compliance with Company safety, environmental, and operational policies
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to teamwork
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in a remote field setting
• Strong work ethic and willingness to perform a variety of hands-on field tasks

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating chainsaws, power tools, and hand tools
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment
• Previous experience in mining, exploration, construction, or related field operations
• Experience working in a remote camp environment

Working Conditions

This position follows a rotational schedule at a remote Alaska work site and may require working in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment, drilling activities, and uneven terrain.

The role may require:

• Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods
• Climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Regular lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Occasional lifting of up to 150 pounds

Successful candidates must pass a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and criminal background clearance.
