About the Role:
The Production Lead is responsible for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring employees follow safety, quality, and productivity standards throughout the solar module manufacturing process. This role provides hands-on leadership, supports production employees across multiple stations, troubleshoots production issues, monitors workflow, and ensures materials and equipment are properly maintained to meet production goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support production employees during daily manufacturing operations while ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and productivity standards are consistently met
- Monitor production lines and equipment to maintain efficient workflow and minimize downtime
- Train employees on production processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues and escalate concerns when necessary
- Ensure materials are loaded properly and coordinate replenishment with material handling teams
- Review inspection and EL test results, coordinate rework when needed, and ensure product quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Oversee daily operations across all production areas including Stringing, Layup, Material Handling, EL Inspection, Framing, Cleaning, Soldering, and Packing
- Ensure finished products are properly packed, labeled, wrapped, and prepared for shipment
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing or production experience required
- Prior leadership or team lead experience preferred
- Experience in solar manufacturing or automated production environments is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed
Schedule:
Training hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Upon completion of training, the schedule will transition to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, and 3 days off.
Location:
- Training will be conducted at our Cypress, TX facility. Upon successful completion of training, this position will transition to our new facility located in Tomball, TX.
