Job Description

Curinos is currently seeking a Director-level leader to join its Advisory Practice.   The Advisory team leverages data driven insights to advise our Banking clients across a range of domains, including Retail, Wealth, and Commercial Banking in addition to functional support areas like Marketing, Digital, Product, Treasury and Finance.  The ideal candidate will have rich consulting, banking, data analytics, project management, and client management experience.

Responsibilities

The Advisory Director role is a highly visible, client-facing role that requires top-notch communication skills, strong executive presence, and keen strategic intuition.  They will play a leadership role in selling and delivering analytically-driven strategic advisory projects.  Typical projects include line-of-business go-to-market strategies, deposit pricing analytics, retail network planning, marketing optimization, value proposition development, product design, digital experience design, balance sheet management, bank charter application support, and bespoke business unit strategies.

The Advisory Director will also support the Co-leaders of the Advisory practice in advancing methodologies to address client needs and serving as a leader in associate mentorship and skill development.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading teams on advisory projects: defining issues, developing hypotheses, structuring analytical frameworks, deliver impactful and actionable insights, leading client meetings and formulating deliverables for clients
  • Supporting business development leading to new revenue
  • Recognizing new opportunities stemming from current or past project work to help pursue additional opportunities
  • Contributing to the firm’s thought leadership reputation within the financial services industry
  • Developing a professional network and maintaining relationships with clients
  • Mentoring junior staff to help them grow and perform at a level that will challenge them professionally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required
  • 10+ years of experience in retail banking or 8+ years in a strategy consulting setting focused on Financial Services. Strategy consulting experience is highly desirable
  • Professional maturity to engage senior client management, establish subject matter credibility, and become a trusted advisor to clients
  • Proven track record of leading teams to deliver complex, time-sensitive work
  • Strong analytical capabilities including the ability to interpret complex analytics
  • Experience managing and developing team members
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to turn around time-sensitive analytics with a high degree of accuracy and insight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a particular focus on effective storytelling and logical presentation
  • Strong storytelling, data visualization, and presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Ability and willingness to travel to client sights on a weekly basis
