REQUIREMENT
We are seeking a strategic, organized, and creative Lead Site Coordinator & Curriculum Developer to oversee the program-wide execution of the Next-Gen Discovery initiative. Located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), this leadership role is responsible for developing the STEM curriculum used across all installations, managing the high-school and college internship programs nationwide, and providing real-time budget forecasting for the entire program.
You will serve as the central hub of the Next-Gen Discovery program, providing oversight and support to local Site Coordinators at Eglin AFB, Hill AFB, and the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA). PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Program-Wide Curriculum Development
- Design, develop, and test mission-critical, hands-on STEM curriculum for all Next-Gen Discovery Craftsman camps (ages 11–15) across all installations.
- Create and vet "Next-Gen Discovery @ Home" lessons for students to complete during the school year.
- Collaborate with local Site Coordinators to identify new camp activities and ensure curriculum is delivered with high fidelity.
Enterprise Internship Management
- Oversee the Junior Apprentice (high school) and Apprentice (college) internship programs across all participating Air Force installations.
- Ensure standardized onboarding, security processing, and program compliance across the entire enterprise.
- Consolidate and manage student metrics, weekly reports, and program data using centralized database platforms.
Financial Management & Budget Forecasting
- Provide real-time budget tracking, cost analysis, and financial forecasting for the Next-Gen Discovery program.
- Assist program management in tracking labor, materials, and travel expenditures across all sites.
Multi-Site Oversight & Camp Support
- Provide high-level oversight, guidance, and troubleshooting support to local Site Coordinators at all installations.
- Provide backup "camp support" and be prepared to assist with local camp execution or lead activities if a local coordinator requires assistance.
EDUCATIONAL, CLEARANCE AND CERTIFICATION
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required (STEM, Education, or Curriculum Design background is highly preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in educational program management, curriculum development, or a similar leadership role involving budget oversight.
- Security: Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a favorable government trustworthiness determination (NACI/SF85) for base and network access.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience with budget tracking, financial forecasting, and data analysis.
- Communication: Exceptional leadership and communication skills; ability to coordinate effectively with remote teams, base leadership, and academic partners.
- Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management software (e.g., Smartsheet).
PHYSICAL/WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Work is primarily in a professional office setting at WPAFB, with occasional travel to other installations for site visits or coordinator meetings.
- Ability to occasionally lift/move curriculum materials and camp kits weighing up to 35 lbs.
TRAVEL
- Occasional travel will be performed under the guidelines of Federal Travel Regulations and/or Joint Travel Regulations.
