Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer FLSA Classification: EXEMPT
Reports To: Manufacturing Engineering Manager/Dir Engineering
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective:
The Manufacturing Engineer will maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of all production related manufacturing equipment and processes required to manufacture high quality product in a repeatable and cost-effective manner.
Essential Functions:

- Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
- Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.
- Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and facilitates improvement/resolutions, and follow-up to employees.
- Organizing, planning, commissioning, and maintaining production lines.
- Maintain and improve all factory processes and related KPI’s.
- Utilize benchmarking methods for continuous improvement in manufacturing. Develop systems for improvement.
- Create standard work documentation and support deployment / implementation.
- Support, cost estimate, and document all engineering changes.
- Strong understanding of Lean/Continuous Improvement concepts, principles, practices, and implementation required.
- Initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformance relating to product, processes, and/or systems.
- Support new product launch, creating work cells, staffing models and manufacturing flow.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the organization.

Competencies:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to learn required systems that are utilized to be successful in this position, such as AutoCAD, Solidworks (Assembly & Motion Studies), Microsoft Project, Infor XA, AS400, and CNC Programming.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, communication skills, multitasking abilities, and the ability to communicate written and orally.
- Strong mathematics skills.
- Ability to calculate figures and understand technical complex concepts
- Ability to identify and describe practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists..

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics) or related field.
- 1 – 3 years related experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus.
- Automation implementation experience a plus.
