Centralized Scheduler in Sikeston, Missouri at Missouri Delta Medical Center

FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

1. Working knowledge of department policies, procedures, objectives, QI/Risk management and safety standards.
2. Maintains a neat, clean, and safe work environment.
3. Knows when to grab future orders vs putting in the order.
4. Make’s sure you have acceptable ICD 10 codes for payment.
5. Excellent phone skills
6. Schedules all out-patient exams along with giving prep instruction.
7. Understands how to create a new encounter or use an existing one.
8. Check voice mail and respond to all calls.
9. Understands how to register a client bill patient.
10. Understands the scheduling/exam protocols for all areas.
11. Maintains departmental policies and procedures manuals.
12. Match orders to next day schedule.
13. Responsible for ordering and maintaining office supplies for your department.
14. Check pre-cert and get pre-cert numbers.
15. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Previous medical experience preferred. Secretarial training desired with prior experience in working with personal computers.

SPECIAL:

PATIENT CONTACT: Ability to meet and interact with patients of all ages.

MACHINE OPERATION: Copy machine, departmental computer, typewriter, and fax machine.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

STANDING: 10% of shift spent standing.

WALKING: 10% of shift spent walking.

LIFTING: Minimum amount of lifting required in an eight hour shift.

VISUAL: Must have the ability to read and process paperwork generated daily.

HEARING & SPEAKING: Must have the ability to communicate via the telephone and one-on-one with patients.
