We’re looking for a skilled PRN Medical Assistant to support our Nurse Practitioner while also managing front desk and receptionist duties. What You’ll Do
- Greet and prepare patients, take medical histories, and escort them to exam rooms
- Obtain vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation) and update records
- Collect specimens (blood, urine, swabs) and properly label them
- Assist Nurse Practitioner during exams and procedures—e.g., vaccines, blood draws, EKGs
- Clean and stock exam rooms, maintain inventory and equipment
- Educate patients and families on medications, preventive care, and self-management
- Perform administrative tasks: scheduling, billing support, phone triage, and maintaining paperwork
- Ensure patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED required
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA) from an accredited program
- At least 1 year clinical experience preferred—primary care or rural clinic experience is a plus
- Proficient in vital signs, injections, phlebotomy and basic procedures
- Strong communication, empathy, and customer-service skills
- Comfortable with EHR systems (scheduling, documentation
