JOB DESCRIPTION
Meal Room Operator
Department: 71 Reports To: Shift Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Worker Category: FT, Tmp, Seasonal
SUMMARY: Responsible for Load-Out Operations-Meal and Hull Load out. Provides assistance and guidance to Meal Room/Load Out employees and Supervisor while working in the capacity of Load Operator inside the Hull Room and Meal Room.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
(Other duties may be assigned)
Completing daily tasks given by department Lead Person
Maintain settings on equipment per Supervisor specifications
Report mechanical and electrical equipment problems to Supervisor
Perform and complete routine maintenance for department equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, and repairing.
Maintain good housekeeping practices instructed by Supervisor
Instruct and enforce company safety rules: (IE LOTO, PPE, and Machine Guarding, and Etc.)
Report accidents, near misses, and incidents to the Supervisor and Safety Director
Keep equipment in good operating condition
Maintain operations inside Hull Load out and Meal Load out areas
Drive a front end loader to load trucks with commodities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
USER-DEFINED;
Assists in other areas as directed by supervisor.
Must comply with all PLAINSMAN COMPANY, LLC.rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
Must comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Less than high school education; or up to one minted experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with l0s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Drivers license preferred.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, respirators, hearing protectors, etc. is required in designated areas. (Per OSHA)
