As a Suspended Platform & BMU Technician IIII / Supervisor, you will perform advanced inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, and oversight of suspended access equipment, including BMUs, powered platforms, davit systems, and related faade access equipment on commercial high-rise buildings. This role serves as the highest-level technical authority in the field, providing leadership for complex and high-risk projects, establishing technical standards, supporting operational planning, and ensuring compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of suspended scaffolding, BMUs, davit systems, and related access equipment
• Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues
• Lead installations, retrofits, commissioning, load testing, acceptance testing, and major system upgrades
• Serve as the primary technical authority for complex and high-risk projects
• Lead failure investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action initiatives
• Develop job plans including work sequencing, rigging requirements, safety controls, and risk mitigation strategies
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, technical guidelines, and best practices
• Provide advanced technical training, mentorship, and workforce development for technicians across all levels
• Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, manufacturers, customers, and regulatory agencies to support project execution and technical compliance
• Conduct quality audits, review work quality, and maintain accurate inspection, testing, and service documentation
• Support operational planning, resource allocation, and execution of field activities
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, NY DOL, DOB, ANSI, manufacturer requirements, and other applicable industry standards
• Work safely at heights using proper fall protection and safety equipment

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; advanced technical certifications, training, or education strongly preferred
• 10+ years of experience with suspended platforms, BMUs, faade access systems, or rigging equipment
• Recognized subject matter expertise in faade access systems, suspended platforms, and OEM standards
• Expert knowledge of NY DOL, OSHA, ANSI, DOB, and other applicable regulations and industry standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams
• Expert-level mechanical, electrical, and control system troubleshooting experience
• Experience leading large-scale installations, commissioning activities, investigations, and complex field operations
• Experience developing technical procedures, quality standards, and safety processes
• Ability to provide technical leadership and oversight across all technician levels
• Ability to work safely in high-risk, safety-critical environments and at elevated heights
• Valid driver's license preferred
• SST, OSHA 30, and SPRAT certifications are a plus
