Position SummaryThe Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all flooring surfaces throughout the community. This role performs specialized floor care services, including carpet cleaning, hard floor maintenance, and upkeep of exterior walkways, while also supporting the Environmental Services Department in maintaining clean and sanitary resident, common, and storage areas. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates attention to detail, and contributes to a positive living environment for residents.
Essential Responsibilities- Maintain and restore the appearance of carpeted, hard-surface, and concrete flooring throughout the community.
- Perform routine floor care procedures including stripping, waxing, burnishing, buffing, scrubbing, and polishing surfaces.
- Clean and maintain carpets through vacuuming, spot treatment, extraction, and other approved methods.
- Ensure exterior sidewalks, entryways, and walkways remain clean and safe.
- Assist with cleaning resident rooms, common areas, offices, storage spaces, and other assigned locations.
- Follow infection control, safety, and environmental services procedures.
- Properly operate and maintain floor care equipment and cleaning supplies.
- Respond promptly to floor-related service requests and special cleaning needs.
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of floor care, housekeeping, environmental services, or related experience preferred.
- Experience in a healthcare, senior living, hospitality, or institutional setting is a plus.
