Reports to: Dean of Faculty and Academics
Classification: Exempt | Full Time | 2080 Hours Annually | Staff
Position Summary: The STEAM and Technology Integration Coordinator supports the growth of innovation, technology integration, and experiential learning at Magnificat High School through instruction, faculty collaboration, student programming, and community engagement. This foundational role is responsible for helping establish and sustain a vibrant STEAM culture that advances student learning, creativity, and future ready skills in alignment with the mission of a Catholic, all-girls college preparatory school. The Coordinator serves as both an educator and innovation leader, teaching STEAM or technology related coursework while also supporting faculty, piloting emerging technologies, and developing student centered opportunities in engineering, artificial intelligence, design thinking, and interdisciplinary learning. Working closely with the Dean of Faculty & Academics and school leadership, the Coordinator will help build systems and programs that strengthen instructional innovation, elevate school visibility, and expand experiential learning opportunities for students.

Major Responsibilities:
STEAM Programming & Student Learning
- Support and pilot STEAM learning opportunities for students, including:
- Providing supplemental support to existing STEAM or engineering coursework
- Creating independent study opportunities
- Leading after school STEAM clubs, competitions, or enrichment programs
- Foster student curiosity, creativity, innovation, and leadership through the creation of hands on and experiential learning opportunities
- Maintain a visible and collaborative presence during the school day to support student engagement in innovation and technology initiatives
- Assist in the development of interdisciplinary and project based learning experiences across departments
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration
- Collaborate with the Dean of Faculty & Academics to support school wide AI initiatives and instructional innovation
- Assist in developing structured opportunities for students to learn responsible, ethical, and effective use of artificial intelligence
- Help pilot AI enhanced classroom experiences and instructional strategies
- Support faculty in integrating AI tools thoughtfully into teaching and learning
- Establish and facilitate an AI Student Advisory Committee to provide student feedback and perspective on emerging practices
- Coordinate at least one AI focused experiential learning opportunity annually, such as guest speakers, workshops, field trips, or industry partnerships
Faculty Support & Professional Learning
- Assist in designing and facilitating differentiated professional learning opportunities related to educational technology, innovation, and artificial intelligence
- Provide optional coaching, support, and classroom collaboration for faculty integrating technology and emerging instructional practices
- Support onboarding and technology integration efforts for new faculty members as appropriate
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to identify instructional technology needs and opportunities for innovation
Technology Integration
- Partner with the Technology Department to research, evaluate, and pilot emerging educational technologies
- Assist in assessing instructional technology tools and classroom implementation effectiveness
- Support mission aligned, responsible, and effective use of technology throughout the school community
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen digital literacy, innovation, and future ready skills across the curriculum
Outreach & School Visibility
- Collaborate with Enrollment and school leadership to support STEAM focused outreach initiatives and student engagement opportunities
- Coordinate or assist with outreach events, workshops, demonstrations, camps, or showcases for prospective students and community partners (one to two events per year)
- Engage students in presenting and showcasing STEAM learning experiences and innovation projects
- Begin cultivating relationships with universities, industry professionals, community organizations, and external partners to support future programming opportunities
Campus Innovation & Community Engagement
- Support implementation of highly visible innovation initiatives such as STEAM Week, design challenges, maker experiences, hackathons, or student innovation projects
- Serve as an ambassador for innovation, creativity, and future-ready learning within the school community
- Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and promote a culture of curiosity, exploration, and continuous improvement
Other Responsibilities
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work extended days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Work is performed in a typical school office environment, which may involve frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents
- Regular activities include walking, sitting, standing, talking, listening, and engaging in face-to-face and phone communication
- Requires frequent reading, writing, and use of fine motor skills for handling office tasks such as managing correspondence, completing forms, filing documents, faxing, copying, and typing
- Visual focus and attention to detail are essential for reviewing documents, data entry, and operating office equipment
- Frequent use of computers and telephones is required throughout the day
- Occasionally may need to bend at the waist or knees or reach above shoulder level to facilitate learning experiences
- Ability to lift or carry moderately heavy items, such as boxes of paper or office supplies (typically up to 20 pounds), on occasion
Position Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in STEAM: engineering, computer science, educational technology, instructional design, innovation or related field required
- State of Ohio teaching licensure or ability to obtain appropriate licensure, preferred
Work Experience:
- Experience teaching or working with adolescents in educational settings, preferred
- Demonstrated interest in educational innovation and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and education
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong instructional, organizational, communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work flexibly across departments and support multiple initiatives simultaneously
