This is a key role within a global clinical research environment, focused on managing, reviewing, and negotiating contractual agreements that support the delivery of innovative biotech and pharmaceutical studies. You will act as a critical link between internal study teams and investigative sites, ensuring contracts are accurate, compliant, and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements. The role combines legal/contractual expertise with practical project support in a fast-paced, international setting. You will contribute directly to the efficiency and integrity of clinical trial execution, helping enable the development of new therapies. Working within a standardized global framework, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Australia and beyond. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in structured yet dynamic environments where precision and accountability are essential.
- Review, draft, and negotiate clinical research contracts with investigative sites and internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, SOPs, and organizational policies.
- Analyze contractual terms and conditions to identify risks, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities while ensuring clarity of obligations and deliverables.
- Provide expert guidance to study teams on contract interpretation, compliance requirements, and legal/operational implications.
- Maintain accurate contract records, tracking key milestones, deadlines, amendments, and execution status across assigned projects.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of contract management processes, templates, and best practices to enhance efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth contract flow and timely execution within clinical trial timelines.
- Ensure alignment with global FSP standards and working practices while adapting to Australian regulatory and site-specific requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, Legal Studies, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications in contract management are a plus.
- Proven experience in contract administration, negotiation, or contract management within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or clinical research (CRO/FSP) industry in Australia.
- Strong understanding of contract law principles, regulatory frameworks, and clinical research industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex contractual language and identify risks and opportunities.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to manage multiple contracts and priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
