We are *actively* recruiting for new candidates interested in our Soft Goods Procurement Specialist position at Tagawa Greenhouses. Accepting new candidates from June 17th to June 23rd with anticipated start dates circa July 6th.

Job Title: Soft Goods Inventory Specialist (Seed Room)

Status: Full-Time Year-Round Office hourly (non-exempt)

Wage: $19-21/hour (starting pay range based on experience)

Schedule: Schedules may vary as assigned by Soft Goods Procurement Manager (30-50 hours per week)

Office hours 7:30AM to 4:00PM, Monday-Friday, but hours fluctuate based on the season and needs of the department, averaging 45 hours per week during peak season (December-February, April, and July-August) but can reduce below 35 hours per week during off-peak.

The Soft Goods Procurement Specialist at Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises LLC is plays a key role in processing information related to inventory and soft good procurement. This position communicates to multiple different teams, including Production teams, Inventory teams, Suppliers, and managers to ensure we are able to procure and process Soft goods inventory required to fulfill orders in our business.

The ideal Soft Goods Procurement Specialist has great attention to details, has strong communication skills, and acts as a liaison between both greenhouse and administrative teams. This position requires at least data-entry, order processing, and inventory functions experience within Tagawa Greenhouses or an equivalent amount of education/experience.

Essential Functions/Duties:

  • Assist with procuring young plant and organizing data related to purchasing/procurement, receiving, and inventory management aspects of soft goods (seed inventory, vegetative cuttings, and other materials necessary for the greenhouse business)
  • Organize seed inventory, label bins, and track incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Process production paperwork and complete verifications to maintain accurate inventory.
  • Complete production verifications.
  • Complete Inventory verifications/physical counts.
  • Update inventory numbers and data using Picas software. Skills with Picas, Inventory software, or MS Excel may be required to complete work.
  • Respond to problems regarding quality of inventory and communicate any issues as instructed by the Soft Goods Procurement Manager
  • Ensure that soft goods are available for teams in time to effectively sow/plant product on a weekly basis
  • Assist with organizing information and seed inventory, label bins, and track seed inventory.
  • Assist in analyzing information regarding inventory history and performance
  • Communicate detailed information and numbers to other administration groups, greenhouse teams, and other clients/customers/vendors.

The Soft Goods Procurement Specialist may be assigned with sorting and managing inventory in the seed room and/or assist with the procurement and coordination of vegetative cuttings arrival and processing. In addition to the above responsibilities, the Soft Goods Procurement Specialist will be required to assist with various projects around the greenhouse as needed. At times, it would be expected to assist with other departments and greenhouse labor as instructed by the Soft Goods Procurement Manager.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older and eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in one of the following areas: 1) Greenhouse Administration, 2) Data-Entry or Order Processing, 3) Soft goods/Live inventory coordination, 4) Purchasing & Order Fulfillment, or 5) an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have intermediate computer skills with experience using MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Power BI, Outlook, etc.). Experience using Picas or production software and programs preferred but not required.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating to clients, managers, vendors, co-workers, and employees in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Must be able to communicate and respond efficiently in a timely manner to written and oral correspondence (including emails) in English using situational based and business appropriate language. Conversational Spanish highly preferred but not required
  • All employees must follow the safety guidelines and procedures set by Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises, use equipment and materials correctly for their intended purpose, and determine appropriate action for dealing with all situations that may arise.
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the General Greenhouse Worker position, including being able to regularly or repetitively lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and push or pull racks on wheels of up to 50-100lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
