Senior Payroll Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Payroll Analyst based in United States.

This role offers the opportunity to own and optimize global payroll operations within a fast-growing, technology-driven organization.
You will play a critical role in ensuring employees across multiple regions are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with local regulations.
Working closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll partners, you will help improve processes and strengthen payroll operations at scale.
The position is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and driving operational excellence.
You will contribute to payroll transformation initiatives, automation efforts, and the creation of scalable best practices.

Accountabilities:

As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you will manage end-to-end payroll operations across multiple entities and countries while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will serve as a trusted partner to internal teams and external providers, helping build efficient payroll processes that support business growth.

  • Own and process global payroll operations across multiple entities and Employer of Record partnerships, ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery.
  • Manage employee payroll inquiries with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail while providing clear resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate compensation, benefits, and retirement plan information across different jurisdictions through regular audits and data reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, including tax requirements, social security obligations, retirement requirements, and statutory filings.
  • Coordinate with local payroll providers and external partners to resolve issues and maintain smooth payroll execution.
  • Maintain payroll controls, approval workflows, audit documentation, and compliance records to minimize risks and errors.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively recommend payroll updates and process improvements.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and other teams to establish scalable payroll practices and improve employee experiences.
  • Support payroll automation initiatives and transformation projects as the organization expands into new markets.
  • Manage payroll-related communications, including tax notices, wage garnishments, agency audits, and workforce reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and deliver measurable enhancements on a regular basis.
  • Maintain payroll documentation, country-specific procedures, and operational checklists to support consistency and audit readiness.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced payroll professional with strong international payroll knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex processes in a dynamic environment.

  • 3+ years of experience as a payroll specialist, payroll analyst, or payroll administrator.
  • Experience managing payroll across multiple entities, countries, or pay cycles.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, tax requirements, benefits administration, and statutory regulations.
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems; familiarity with platforms such as Rippling is a plus.
  • Knowledge of international payroll practices, including areas such as UK PAYE and pensions, Netherlands social security contributions, Singapore CPF, Malaysia SOCSO/EPF, LATAM social security, and US payroll regulations.
  • Experience handling variable compensation such as bonuses, commissions, incentives, and supplemental earnings.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across teams and time zones.
  • Ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with HR, Finance, leadership teams, and external payroll providers.
  • Familiarity with regulations such as GDPR, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, and emerging payroll compliance requirements is preferred.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
