Job Description
Job Summary: Trains inmates in digital processes. Able to operate all digital equipment. Maintain a safe work area. Supervise inmates to ensure your assigned area is efficient. Keeps Production Manager informed of any variation to processes that will impact production.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
1. Supervise and train inmates in all digital functions.
2. Proficient in D365 and responsible for monthly invoicing.
3. Ensure quality products through inspection and inmate awareness.
4. Promote plant safety by making inmate workers knowledgeable of proper safety practices and by working with DC, State, and Federal agencies to ensure industry compliance of regulations.
5. Promote productivity by maintaining a pleasant and safe atmosphere for inmates under his supervision.
6. Assist in preparation of all OJT and inmate records for inmates under his supervision.
7. Ensure that all incoming and outgoing items are inspected to prevent any breaches in the security of the institution and PRI.
8. Working closely with FDC personnel to ensure compliance with institution rules and regulations in the performance of shipping and receiving.
Requirements:Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required, + 2 years supervisory experience. Mechanical aptitude and ability, and some manufacturing experience helpful.
Language Skills: Basic verbal, written, and electronic communication skills.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations necessary for daily operations.
Reasoning Ability: Training inmates in production and clerical techniques and coordinating manpower and equipment usage.
Specialized Knowledge and/or Skill: Acquire FDC training to supervise Inmate Workers. Must have a strong working knowledge of Excel and have other basic computer skills (Word, Outlook, Teams).
Other Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills with effective personal time management; honest, dependable, professional, adaptable, and pleasant to work with.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or office equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job may include close vision.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is exposed to fumes or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud – the dust level is moderate.
Principal Contacts: All departments, Industry Manager, production manager, classification, maintenance, security, vendors, customers, Inmate Workers, and some FDC staff.
