Job Description
GSC is seeking part-time faculty instructor. Duties for the position include:
Teach or co-teach workshops, class sessions, or other instructional activities related to creative writing, literature, journalism, global issues, displacement, migration, human rights, freedom of expression, and/or social justice.
Provide regular mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students interested in writing, publishing, global studies, and related fields.
Develop and facilitate writing workshops and peer-review activities that encourage students to examine global issues through narrative, literary, and journalistic approaches.
Contribute to Global Studies Center educational programming and collaborate with GSC faculty and staff on relevant curricular and co-curricular initiatives.
Deliver at least one public lecture, reading, or moderated discussion during the appointment period that connects the Fellow’s professional or creative work with broader global issues.
Participate in selected GSC public programs, workshops, or discussions related to the Fellow’s areas of expertise.
Assist with the development of educational resources or curricular materials that connect writing and literature to global themes.
Engage with faculty, students, and relevant University and community partners as appropriate to the Fellow’s expertise and the Center’s programming.
Hold regular office hours or scheduled mentoring sessions for students.
Considerable professional and demonstrated expertise or academic accomplishments in education, creative writing, and/or global issues etc. is required.
