Job Description
About Lasso Informatics
Research data is wild. It pours in from brain scans, genome sequencing, EEG and eye-tracking, biospecimens and wearables that track sleep and movement, across dozens of sites and years of study. Lasso Informatics ropes it in: our platform pulls it all into one place so researchers around the world can stop fighting with their data and get to discoveries faster.
That is where our name comes from. A lasso brings something wild under control, and that is the job. The people who do it are Wranglers, and we are quite choosy about who earns the title. Wranglers expect a lot of themselves, make everyone around them better, and never stop learning. We move fast, we have fun, and we keep the bar high.
About the Role
This is a hands-on coordination role, and Jira is at the center of it. We are looking for a Jira ninja who lives in filters, boards and dashboards and can turn a sprawling pile of tickets, meetings and study setups into clear, tracked, on-time progress.
As a Study Configuration Specialist at Lasso, you keep our studies and delivery work moving. You own the Jira setup for new study configurations, build the views that make status and risk visible at-a-glance, run the meetings that keep teams aligned, and chase the follow-ups so nothing stalls. You work alongside people from every corner of the company, from engineers and scientific analysts to project managers and delivery leads, and you interact directly with the researchers and client teams our studies serve.
What You'll Do
- Own the Jira setup for new study configurations: build filters and boards to visualize and track status, report on progress, follow up with individuals and raise risks early.
- Build and maintain Jira filters, dashboards and reports that give the team clear visibility into status and performance.
- Prepare and run recurring meetings: set the agenda ahead of time, take notes and drive follow-ups to completion (for example bug review, bug triage, stand ups, security and UI/UX meetings).
- Prepare and distribute a weekly action report so commitments are tracked and nothing slips.
- Support software release preparation: keep Jira ticket status current, link child items to parents, assign items to the right release and follow up with owners.
- Handle ad hoc coordination: create Jira tickets, schedule and reschedule meetings and set up agendas for new ones.
- Help put structure in place for people-resource planning, and establish Jira metrics that track on-time completion and surface bottlenecks over time.
Qualifications
Required
- Non-negotiable: Advanced, hands-on Jira skills. You build and maintain filters, boards, dashboards and reports, and you know how to structure epics, stories and releases. This is the heart of the role.
- 2+ years coordinating projects, delivery or operations end-to-end, ideally in a software, research or regulated environment.
- Strong organization skills. You juggle many meetings, tickets and deadlines without dropping threads.
- Excellent written and verbal communication. You can run a meeting, write a clear agenda and a crisp action report, and follow up with people diplomatically.
- Proficiency using AI for business applications: prompting and building simple agents to streamline your own coordination and reporting work (business use, as distinct from IT or engineering).
- Comfortable working in a distributed, remote team and staying on top of priorities on your own.
Preferred
- Proficiency with Monday.com.
- Experience supporting agile delivery and software release cycles (sprints, backlog grooming, release management).
- Familiarity with clinical or research data workflows, or another regulated data environment.
- A life sciences or clinical research background. A Jira ninja who also knows the science is a rare and very welcome combination.
- Experience building metrics and reporting to track delivery performance and surface bottlenecks.
- Jira administration experience or certification.
Want to Be a Wrangler? Here's What We Look For
- You hold yourself to a high standard and bring real rigor to your work.
- You make the people around you better.
- You stay curious and keep learning.
- You see a problem and start solving it, without waiting to be asked.
- You keep the whole picture in view and notice how a change in one place ripples through the schedule, the tickets and the team.
- You are organized to a fault and never let a follow-up slip.
- You communicate clearly and can keep a room on track.
- You are comfortable speaking up, asking for clarification and holding people to their commitments in a friendly, professional way, even when they are several levels senior to you.
What We Offer
- A flexible, hybrid or remote position.
- Competitive compensation and benefits.
- Work that matters, with scientific and clinical impact you can point to.
- Variety that keeps it interesting: no two studies, releases or weeks look the same.
- Room to grow with a mission-driven company at the front of research data management.
- A sharp, multidisciplinary team that is good at what it does and good to work with.
