About the Role

Superior Skilled Trades is partnered with a company seeking a Senior Project Manager to provide strategic leadership across multiple concurrent, mission-critical structural steel programs. This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of engineered steel building systems—from pre-construction and design coordination through fabrication, logistics, erection, and commissioning.

This position operates at a senior level within the organization, driving execution strategy, portfolio performance, and cross-functional alignment between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and field operations. The Senior Project Manager will play a key role in supporting continued expansion into data center, industrial, and large-scale infrastructure markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and own execution strategies across multiple concurrent structural steel projects, including master schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk management frameworks aligned with hyperscale and industrial client demands.
  • Lead end-to-end project delivery for engineered steel building systems, ensuring seamless integration between design, engineering, fabrication (manufacturing facility), logistics, and field erection.
  • Oversee portfolio-level performance across cost, schedule, quality, safety, and risk, ensuring consistent execution across all active programs.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Design Managers while maintaining direct ownership of the most complex and strategic initiatives.
  • Partner with engineering and estimating teams to support proposal development, value engineering, and preconstruction strategy for competitive bid positioning.
  • Manage executive-level client relationships, including progress reporting, governance meetings, and proactive issue resolution to ensure long-term partnership success.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including adoption of digital tools (Primavera P6, Procore, BIM platforms) and implementation of best practices across engineering and fabrication workflows.
  • Identify systemic risks across projects and implement mitigation strategies to improve predictability, efficiency, and delivery performance.
  • Ensure alignment between manufacturing output and field installation schedules to maintain optimal project flow and delivery performance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive project leadership experience in structural steel, industrial construction, or mission-critical infrastructure environments.
  • Proven experience managing multiple concurrent large-scale projects or program-level portfolios.
  • Strong background in structural steel design, fabrication, and erection processes.
  • Experience working in integrated environments involving engineering, fabrication, and field construction coordination.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, Procore, and BIM coordination platforms.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to expand technical scope beyond structural steel into broader construction disciplines.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong strategic thinking and program-level decision-making capability
  • Ability to manage complex, fast-paced, and evolving project environments
  • Excellent communication skills with executive-level client and stakeholder engagement experience
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to manage and mentor cross-functional teams
  • High-level understanding of risk management, scheduling, and cost control at a portfolio scale
  • Ability to lead subcontractors, vendors, fabrication teams, and field operations with accountability and performance focus
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret project data and drive performance improvements
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality, accuracy, and execution excellence
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-moving, high-demand environments
What This Role Offers
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact structural steel programs supporting data center and industrial expansion
  • Direct involvement in an integrated engineering, manufacturing, and construction delivery model
  • Revenue share potential tied to portfolio performance
  • Exposure to advanced fabrication and delivery systems
  • High-level ownership and visibility across strategic client programs
