Position Summary
The Transportation Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and respectful transport of individuals served by Dreams With Wings. This role ensures that all transportation services align with the organization’s mission, philosophy, vision, and core values, while prioritizing safety, dignity, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Model and uphold the mission, philosophy, vision, and core values of Dreams With Wings.
- Follow all agency policies, procedures, transportation regulations, and the Code of Conduct.
- Maintain confidentiality of all individuals served.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.
- Recognize, prevent, and immediately report suspected abuse or neglect.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Transportation. Program Development & Oversight
- Act as a role model by treating all individuals with dignity and respect at all times
- Provide one-on-one assistance as needed during transport
- Ensure client safety, including proper use of seatbelts and securement devices
- Assist individuals entering and exiting the vehicle safely
Client Care & Support
- Treat all individuals with dignity and respect at all times.

Vehicle Management
- Conduct and document daily vehicle inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and safe operating condition of assigned vehicle.
- Ensure proper and safe use of wheelchair lifts and securement systems.
- Refrain from using agency vehicles for personal errands or unauthorized purposes.
Documentation & Communication
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time, including daily transportation logs, attendance records, route sheets, and end-of-day reports.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Transportation regarding concerns, delays, or route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
- CPR certification required.
- Compliance with FTSB regulations.
- Ability to safely operate accessible vehicles (training provided if needed).
- Ability to assist with lifting and mobility support.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills are preferred.
Work Schedule
- Frequent sitting, driving, and assisting individuals
- Exposure to varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and assist individuals as needed
Occupational Exposure
This role involves frequent sitting and driving, assisting individuals with mobility needs, exposure to varying weather conditions, and possible routine exposure to potentially hazardous materials, including bloodborne pathogens.
