About the Role

The Housekeeping Lead – Cedar River Lodge supports the daily operation of the Housekeeping department and helps ensure guest rooms and public areas consistently meet Shanty Creek Resorts' standards for cleanliness, presentation, and guest service.

This position provides day-to-day direction and support to Room Attendants, coordinates cleaning assignments, inspects completed rooms, assists with training, and helps resolve operational issues throughout the shift. The Housekeeping Lead serves as a working leader and may assist with cleaning rooms or other housekeeping duties when needed to support the team and meet guest needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the daily activities of Housekeeping team members.

  • Assign and prioritize guest rooms and cleaning responsibilities based on occupancy and operational needs.

  • Monitor room status and progress throughout the shift to help ensure rooms are completed on time.

  • Inspect guest rooms and assigned public areas for cleanliness, presentation, and adherence to resort standards.

  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to Room Attendants throughout the workday.

  • Assist with training new and existing employees on cleaning procedures, safety practices, and guest service expectations.

  • Help maintain consistent housekeeping procedures and quality standards.

  • Communicate room status, maintenance concerns, and operational needs to Housekeeping leadership and other departments as appropriate.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues, damaged items, and potential safety hazards.

  • Respond professionally and promptly to guest requests or housekeeping concerns.

  • Assist with maintaining appropriate levels of linens, guest supplies, cleaning products, and equipment.

  • Ensure housekeeping carts, storage areas, and workspaces remain clean, organized, and properly stocked.

  • Follow and reinforce procedures for the safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Assist with guest room cleaning and other housekeeping duties as operational needs require.

  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.

  • Follow all resort safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.

  • Complete additional housekeeping responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping, custodial, or professional cleaning experience.

  • Previous experience providing direction, training, or leadership to other employees.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and quality standards.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work and adjust to changing operational needs.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Ability to perform the physical responsibilities associated with housekeeping and guest room cleaning.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous housekeeping leadership experience in a hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.

  • Experience inspecting guest rooms and monitoring housekeeping quality standards.

  • Experience with scheduling, room assignment, or housekeeping management systems.

  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning products, chemicals, and equipment.
