We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Team Member to join our team.

In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of shipping and receiving at MPE. This role involves preparing and coordinating shipments, managing inventory, ensuring the timely delivery of goods, and maintaining accurate records. The individual will work closely with the production, warehousing, and transportation teams to ensure efficient material flow from the plant to customers or distribution centers.

Shift Available: First Shift 7:00am-3:30pm (flexible start/end time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pick, pack, and label products for shipment according to customer orders, shipping schedules, or production requirements.
  • Ensure that all shipments are properly documented with shipping labels, packing lists, and required compliance paperwork.
  • Verify and double-check shipments for accuracy before sending out.
  • Operate forklift or other material handling equipment to move goods to and from shipping areas.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and condition, checking for discrepancies, damage, or missing items.
  • Unload materials and ensure they are stored properly in designated warehouse areas.
  • Record and update inventory levels in the company’s inventory management system.
  • Communicate any issues with receiving or damaged goods to supervisors.
  • Work with transportation providers (e.g., carriers, couriers) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
  • Coordinate and follow up on delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrival of raw materials or product shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations, including hazardous materials handling, if applicable.
  • Properly handle materials and finished goods, ensuring they are stored in appropriate locations and safely stacked to prevent damage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the shipping and storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records, including shipping logs, bills of lading, and tracking numbers.
  • Ensure that all shipping documents comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Assist in generating reports on shipping activities, including tracking the progress of orders and deliveries.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience and Training:

  • 3-5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic knowledge of shipping software, inventory management systems, and/or ERP software
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jacks)
  • Basic math and organizational skills to accurately track shipments, inventory, and shipping documentation
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with cross-functional teams
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials shipping regulations and procedures
  • Experience with barcoding, RFID systems, or other advanced tracking technology

Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds, reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Must be able to drive standup forklift, use computer, and read paperwork such as labels and packing slips
