About This Position
The City of Marysville is currently hiring a Communications Dispatch Officer (CDO). The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, be able to think quickly and respond to multiple tasks simultaneously, and have a strong customer service orientation. Candidates should also have a good understanding of geography and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
This position is technical in nature and relies on communication skills to perform the responsibilities. Dispatch Officers are generally scheduled 40 hours a week, with some periodic overtime. May be required to work weekends, rotating shifts, or holidays.
- Answering incoming calls from business and emergency telephone lines
- Radio dispatching
- Clerical work
- Operation of communication equipment
- High School graduate.
- 18 years of age at time of appointment.
- Must have the ability to become and remain LEADS Certified to run Inquiry and Complete Criminal History (CCH).
- Valid Ohio driver's license with a good driving record.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of basic software packages (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, and G Suite).
- Prior law enforcement experience is a plus.

Starting pay rate is $26.10 per hour. With a strong benefits package.
