Pay Range: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey.

The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

Performs standard and complex polysomnographic recordings and monitors physiological phenomena throughout such procedures. Administers oxygen and nasal continuous positive airway pressure and employs ventilatory assist devices by established protocols. Performs special procedures such as multiple sleep latency testing.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT).
  • Additional experience as an EEG Technician or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • One to three years previous experience in hospital-based or freestanding Sleep Center.
  • Scoring experience required. Knowledge of AASM Standards.

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

  • RPSGT certification in New Jersey.

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

  • Per Diem
  • Nights

Essential Functions:

  • Adheres to all protocols, policies and procedures per the Department Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Assesses and interprets patient status in order to identify and provide appropriate care based on the assessment and specific needs identified
  • Assists in orientation of new staff members. Assists students as needed. Provides appropriate in-service to physicians, nurses, and clinical associates as required.
  • Attends at least 50% of scheduled staff meetings.
  • Correctly documents all therapy given according to Department policy. Correctly completes all patient records and documentation including patient assessment and patient education.
  • Correctly performs physiologic calibrations and effectively performs troubleshooting procedures as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to choose montages best suited for patients based on protocol, policy and procedure.
  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service.
  • Adheres to patient rights: provides for the confidential treatment of all communications and records.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with families, visitors, physicians, co-workers and supervisors.
  • Utilizes principles of continuous quality improvement in all work situations to assess, measure and improve organizational and department functions
