Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our National Placement team on a contract basis. This remote role focuses on identifying and developing strategic partnerships with employers who need talent solutions to fill their job requisitions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in B2B sales, relationship building, and understanding hiring needs to establish employer partnerships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Employer Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Research and identify prospective employer partners across target industries and markets who have active hiring needs
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified employer leads through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and digital channels
  • Conduct market analysis to identify companies experiencing growth, expansion, or increased hiring demand
  • Leverage LinkedIn, industry databases, and other tools to identify decision-makers in HR, talent acquisition, and operations

Business Development Activities

  • Initiate contact with prospective employer partners through outreach strategies including email campaigns, professional networking, social selling and B2B system outreach
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand employer hiring challenges, job requisition needs, and talent gaps
  • Present and articulate our talent solutions and value proposition effectively to HR leaders, hiring managers, and C-suite executives
  • Schedule and conduct virtual and in-person meetings with qualified prospects (as needed)

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at prospective employer organizations
  • Act as a trusted advisor to understand ongoing and future talent requirements
  • Nurture long-term partnerships that result in recurring business opportunities
  • Coordinate with internal recruitment and account management teams to ensure seamless client onboarding

Sales & Pipeline Management

  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for new employer partner acquisition and NPower alumni hires OR NPower placements
  • Maintain accurate records of all business development activities, prospects, and opportunities in CRM system
  • Track and report on key metrics including outreach volume, meetings scheduled, proposals sent, and conversion rates
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews and strategy sessions with national placement leadership

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • 3+ years of experience in B2B business development, consultative sales, high volume recruitment or account management
  • Proven track record of identifying and closing new business opportunities
  • Experience in staffing, recruiting, HR technology, or workforce development preferred
  • Strong understanding of employer hiring processes and talent acquisition challenges
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Apollo or similar) and sales engagement tools
  • Comfortable with metrics-driven performance expectations

The duration of this position is 6-12 months, with the possibility of extension or conversion to a full-time employee (FTE) role. However, extension or FTE conversion is not guaranteed and will depend on business needs, performance, and other factors.
