About This Position
- Ensures the timely and accurate processing of the Village’s bi-weekly payroll to include taxation and compliance, salary deferrals and deductions, withholding orders and garnishments, and payroll account reconciliations
- Maintains and documents all payroll records to include tax notices and rate changes, general ledger, and internal SOPs; assists the Finance Director with quarterly/year-end preparation and W2/1095 processing
- Assists with benefits administration, including new hire enrollment, change reporting, and communicating benefits information to employees; processes employee expense reports and employee health reimbursements
- Manages the billing life cycle process in order to take the appropriate action for utility billing; assists residents with utility or tax billing questions or payments
- Assists with annual tax collection process; administers and collects any special assessments or miscellaneous billing
- Provides backup support for other tasks in the finance department and acts as the front office phone and front desk backup, when needed. Ensures a friendly, welcoming, and consistently excellent standard of service with Village staff and the general public.

Education & Experience
- Required
- Associates degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or a related field
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a related position
- Highly proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook
- Must be bondable
- Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or Business or Public Administration
- Previous experience with payroll processing and a knowledge of employment laws
- Previous experience with BS&A
Physical Demands
The position requires frequent sitting; sometimes walking, stooping, bending, periodic standing, and squatting. Frequently reaching in front of body and occasionally overhead including the infrequent lifting of up to 50 pounds. Continuously handling of objects and equipment using hand, wrist, and fingers simultaneously; frequently finger manipulation, use of keyboard, use of calculator, and writing. Talking and hearing ordinary conversation primarily in a moderately quiet environment including the use of a telephone. The work environment can be described as that of a general office setting.
