Job Description

Position Summary: The Commercial Product Manager leads product strategy, development, and performance management. This role supports the profit and loss (P&L) performance of assigned products and/or territories, and guides products from concept to market by aligning technical and business strategies, overseeing rate and rule filings, recommending coverage updates, and ensuring regulatory compliance. In addition, this position is instrumental in maintaining a competitive edge and delivering high-quality, high-impact insurance solutions.

Note: This is a hybrid position that requires attendance each Monday and Wednesday at our St. Petersburg, FL office.

Typical Essential Duties

  • Supports strategic initiatives impacting Profit & Loss performance for designated products or geographic areas by recommending appropriate strategy that drives underwriting profitability.
  • Monitors and reports on portfolio health and performance metrics to internal stakeholders.
  • Partners with leadership to define and execute multi-year product strategies.
  • Leads the end-to-end development of new products and enhancements — from market research to pricing, form development, compliance, and documentation.
  • Reviews and enhances existing policy forms and language to maintain regulatory compliance and market relevance.
  • Drives rate, rule, and form change initiatives and leads filings and regulatory interactions.
  • Conducts competitive and market analysis, including ISO circular reviews and peer filings.
  • Identifies and prioritizes opportunities for new products or updates that either align with market needs or mitigate risks.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for coverage, forms, and product-related initiatives across departments.
  • Collaborates with Underwriting, Claims, Sales/Marketing, and agency partners to ensure alignment and communication.
  • Designs and delivers internal training to support product launches and updates.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned that are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job description.

  • Education/Licensure: Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline.
  • Professional Credentials: CPCU or similar insurance certification preferred.
  • Experience: At leave five (5) years in product management within the insurance industry or a related field required. Strong familiarity with ISO rules, forms, and regulatory filing processes and experience analyzing competitor filings and market data preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job may be acceptable in lieu of the Education and Experience requirements listed above.

Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting, and coverages.
  • Strong analytical and project management capabilities.
  • Practical, solutions-focused problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrable computer application skills including Microsoft Office Suite of programs and the ability to learn various internal and/or proprietary software packages.

Physical

  • This role requires occasional travel.
  • Position typically requires reaching, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
