Authorization and Referrals in Riverview, Florida at Florida Urology Partners LLP

The Authorization and Referrals position is responsible for obtaining and logging all necessary prior authorizations and/or referrals into our Electronic Health Record and medical billing system prior to scheduled appointments.

• Receive, track and obtain insurance authorization from in-network and out-of-network insurance carriers for New Patient and Follow-Up visits with our medical providers.
• Analyze daily schedule for patients needing prior authorization.
• Request and obtain all authorizations prior to patients scheduled appointment/treatment.
• Prepare and enter all authorizations into the e-MDs program.
• Communicate to direct supervisor any potential authorization issues.
• Positively communicate and interact with patients
• Team player with front office staff and able to help with other tasks as needed

• At least 2 years of medical billing and authorization experience desired
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to prioritize work flow
• Computer skills: Electronic Health Records, Outlook email, Windows, Microsoft Word, On-line insurance carrier websites, Phreesia
