Produce Buyer at Confidential – Lanse, Michigan

The Produce Buyer will coordinate and identify suppliers of product, negotiate price and quality, ensuring adequate supply of the best product at the best price. The buyer will make purchasing decisions and manage the process for order fulfillment for our customers.

Primary Job Responsibilities may include:

• Product procurement, replenishment, inventory management and forecasting.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Introduce new products and drive innovation.
• Provide sales support for new product launches.
• Minimize shrink/spoilage.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years related experience.
• Good knowledge of produce, including seasonality and geography of fresh produce supply.
• Strong negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Possess a high degree of professionalism, tact and persistence.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
