POSITION SUMMARY

- Director of OR/Ambulatory Services

Summary:
- The Central Sterilizing Technician, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, is responsible for daily maintenance of the central sterilizing; assisting in processing of endoscopic equipment, processing items for OR, OB, ER, Cardiopulmonary, daily and quarterly cleaning. Responsibilities include but not limited to, functioning of the autoclaves; monitoring of processes and procedures to insure the integrity of sterile articles and packs; maintaining, storing and retrieving records, maintaining adequate supply of sterile items.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience
- Minimum of 3 months of previous experience as a Central Sterile Technician required.

Computer Skills
- Must exhibit basic computer knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility.

Certificates & Licenses
- Valid driver’s license required. Certification in sterile processing procedures strongly preferred.

Other Requirements
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques. Knowledge of MSDS policy book and Housekeeping Policies. Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
