POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of clerical functions for the department. Greets and responds to customers at the desk. Provides patient prep instructions for scheduled procedures. Courteously answers the phone, triages phone calls appropriately. Facilitates communication between Interpreting Radiologists and Referring Physicians.
Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
At least one year of clerical experience with medical background required. Medical Terminology knowledge required.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
N/A
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required. Strong telephone etiquette, customer service and basic patient care skills preferred. Ability to clearly and calmly communicate in English both verbally and in writing with patients, medical staff and the public.
Ability to type 35 wpm and proficiency in a variety of computer applications preferred. Ability to operate variety of office equipment.
