About This Position

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Intern - Supply Chain assists with projects that benefit the organization in cost reduction and/or improved efficiency while gaining real-world Supply Chain experience through hands-on learning and collaboration with team-driven supply chain team members and team members outside of the department. The supply chain internship is over the course of a school year as part of graduation requirements. Reports to the Director, Supply Chain Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Executes assignments and projects within established standards, policies, and procedures as assigned by the Supply Chain Director.
  • Learns about Supply Chain support functions and other functions within our operational facilities.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers to achieve desired project results.
  • Provides weekly updates to the Supply Chain Director and any required college/university faculty.
  • Attends meetings with the Supply Chain Director for observation to gain the skills and knowledge as well as opportunities to interact with the health systems leaders.
  • Maintains professionalism in all interactions, placing customer service a priority.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

  • Required Licenses and/or Certifications
    • None required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Required Education and Experience
    • Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Management from an accredited program, college, or university at date of hire.
    • Rising junior or senior at date of hire with the mandatory minimum credit hours for the internship as established by the program, college, or university.
    • Recent recommendation letter from college/university adviser or professor required.
    • Continuous maintenance of all educational requirements is required during the internship.
    • Ability to work the required minimum hours as established by the program.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Demonstrates fundamental understanding of Supply Chain and/or Business foundational principles.
    • Proficient with MS Office to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
    • Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse individuals.
    • Highly motivated, enthusiastic team player who takes initiative.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Excellent time management skills with the ability to shift priorities, work independently and in a group setting, prioritize work and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
