What You'll Do- The Intervention Teacher oversees and manages small group instruction across grade levels with direct intervention support services.
- Teach and coordinate Tier 2 & 3 intervention for target students.
- Facilitate the management and interpretation of data necessary to develop, implement and evaluate Tier 1, 2 & 3 interventions.
- Communicate and collaborate professionally with teammates, parents, and community members to assist in coordination of intervention services for target students.
- Provide non-evaluative classroom observation and feedback, modeling, and other supportive assistance necessary related to the implementation of the RTI process.
- Analyze informal and formal student assessment results to measure students’ growth towards goals and to monitor students mastery of the content standards.
- Maintain high expectations for students academic achievement and conduct.
- Teach the knowledge and skills, nurture the confidence and character, and inspire the passion needed for our students to achieve their goals, live their best lives, and positively impact the world
- Value and draw upon students’ experiences and backgrounds
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies based on the diverse needs of all the students that engage all students
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Passing score on the California Basic Skills Test (CBEST) or basic skills equivalency
- 3 or more years of full time teaching experience
- Valid preliminary or CLEAR single subject Math teaching credential (strong preference but not required)
- Working at an organization committed to the hard work necessary to ensure education is for liberation
- Spending time with students and families in the best communities of LA, Compton, and San Diego
- Support and care from fellow teachers, administrators, and regional team members
- Ongoing professional development and coaching from a school site manager
