Position reports to: Senior Education Manager

Position Summary

This position serves as a subject matter expert in absence and disability management, contributing to the development and delivery of DMEC’s educational events, products, and services. They will collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure DMEC’s educational offerings are compliant with federal and state laws, highly relevant, and continuously improving. This role supports the review and creation of new educational offerings and resources to meet member needs while maintaining the quality and effectiveness of existing offerings. The position requires minimal supervision and collaborative work within cross- functional teams, aligning with DMEC’s core values and emphasizing a team-based approach to decision- making and knowledge sharing. It also requires the ability to engage effectively with individuals at all skill levels and positions, fostering inclusivity and collaboration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees content governance processes by reviewing all educational content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational standards. Authors or sources additional content as needed.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of DMEC’s training courses.
  • Responsible to plan, execute, and manage member communications such as FAQ Friday and Communities questions.
  • Addresses and resolves learner questions and issues related to DMEC training courses.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact and manages ongoing product distribution for the FMLA/ADA Training for Supervisors and Managers.
  • Assists in content review for DMEC @Work magazine, conference submissions, webinars, and white papers to ensure alignment with DMEC standards and objectives.
  • Participates in the testing and quality assurance for pulse surveys, including content and technical aspects.
  • Serves as a moderator and/or producer for webinars and virtual conferences, managing logistics, providing technical support, and ensuring smooth execution.
  • Manages assigned project timelines and works collaboratively with relevant departments to ensure completion of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Must have expert knowledge of the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), workers’ compensation, short-term disability, long-term disability, stay-at- work and return-to-work, mental health, and absence management.
  • Must be self-motivated, results-oriented, and a team player.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Must have demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and work very effectively within and across departments.
  • Must have excellent communication and written skills.
  • Must have strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously, assimilate feedback from multiple stakeholders, and adhere to tight deadlines.

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree (human resources or other related field preferred)
  • ADMS, ARM, CCM, CEBS, CDMS, CLMS, CMP, CPDM, CRCC, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, or similar certification(s).
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the development and/or administration of absence management programs.
  • 1-2 years of managing educational programming or content development preferred.
  • Association experience preferred.
Work Environment
  • This is a remote position. A quiet home office is required.
  • Travel one to three times per year for conferences and events may be required.
Salary & Benefits

Base salary range: $61,359 - $83,014 annually

This is a summary of the current basic employment benefits. Individual benefit programs may be amended or deleted at management’s sole discretion at any time. An employee handbook will be provided to you for more complete benefit information about DMEC’s benefit plans upon hire.

Employees are eligible on the date of hire for the following benefits:

  • 40 hours of paid sick leave per calendar year, unless a greater amount is required under state of local law
  • 4.62 vacation hours accrued per pay period (3 weeks per year)
  • 40 hours of bereavement leave
  • 401K retirement plan with 100% company match up to 4% of salary
  • Flexible spending accounts
  • Eight (8) holidays, plus your birthday (floating holiday); in addition, the DMEC office is closed for two days following each in-person conference (2 conferences per year), and Christmas Eve through New Year’s Day each year (employees will be paid for any workdays that fall during that period)

Employees become eligible for group health and welfare benefits on the first of the month after completion of 30 days of employment

  • Fully paid health, dental, vision, group life, and disability insurance (short-term and long-term)

Employees are eligible on the first of the month following 60 days of employment for the following benefits:

  • 80 hours of Paid Family Leave per year

Equipment:

DMEC will provide the necessary computer equipment (laptop, printer, etc.) for the employee’s home office as well as reimbursement for a portion of internet and phone expenses.
