About This Position
Carteret Community College (Morehead City, NC) is accepting applications for an Academic Support Coordinator. The Academic Support Coordinator is a full-time position responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Mentoring, Advising, and Planning for Success (MAPS) Center, including registration, testing, tutoring, and the academic support services.
Annual Salary Range: $38,131 to $47,664
Benefits include paid leave, low-cost insurance, 12 paid holidays per year, pension.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, OR equivalent education and experience. Preferred: Master’s degree.

- Serves as the MAPS Center receptionist, to include oversight of drop in requests, phone calls and the Center email correspondence.
- Assist with advising and registering students in the MAPS Center.
- Coordinate and conduct MAPS Center testing.
- Assist with recruiting, training, and scheduling all MAPS Center support staff to ensure adequate coverage to meet student needs.
- Under direction from supervisor, source and schedule tutoring services to aid in student success.
- Provide marketing for MAPS Center resources.
- Ensure College placement testing processes comply with current State standards.
- Gather and provide data for reporting, outcomes assessment and other needs identified by the Director.
- Maintain inventory of testing and tutoring resources.
- Monitor and ensure security of confidential information.
- Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
- Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, OR equivalent education and experience. Preferred: Master’s degree.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Four years of experience working in a learning center, including one year supervising the work of others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and other information systems.
