Job Description

Boys & Girls Clubs of Larimer County (BGCLC) is a place for kids to laugh, a place to learn, a place to grow and a place to belong.

For more than 30 years, BGCLC has served the youth in Larimer County. Through amazing programs, caring staff, and a safe atmosphere, we give youth a place to go when they need support, care and most importantly, fun. We give youth a place to call home.

BGCLC is looking for an energetic, fun-loving, adaptable individual to provide a warm, friendly welcome to our members, parents, staff, guests, and community partners.

In this position, you will:

  • Ensure the physical and emotional health and safety of Club members at all times.
  • Responsible for greeting and checking every member, staff member, and volunteer in and out of the Club each day.
  • Communicate with parents about Club services and activities.
  • Accurately enter and update all Club member information into databases.
  • Provide guidance and act as a role model/mentor to assure conduct, safety and development of all members.
  • Responsible for creating and upholding behavior standards for youth throughout the Club.
  • Help maintain facilities and equipment in the front entry area to ensure a productive and clean work environment..
  • Maintain close professional contact with all staff members, Club Director, and volunteers to communicate on Club operations and the needs of members.
  • Build positive relationships with youth and parents, by remembering names and special interests of youth and families.

You are someone who:

  • Likes to have fun & has a passion for working with school-aged youth.
  • Has the ability to deal with the general public.
  • Has strong verbal & written communication skills.
  • Has the ability to motivate youth & manage behaviors.
  • Has the ability to organize & supervise members in a safe environment.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a pay range of $16 - $17.00/hour.The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • Early childhood experience is preferred.

Specialized Skills

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking is highly preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
  • Candidates must pass a criminal and driving records investigations as well as a reference check.

  • Administrative Positions
    • This office is located in a two story building with no elevator access to the second floor.
    • The work environment is the typical office environment. Due to shared walls with other organizations, the environment can be loud at times and with multiple people in and out of the office area, there can be multiple interruptions throughout the workday/shift.   • Club Positions
    • The work environment is the typical youth mentorship or after-school environment and/ or office environment. The environment can be loud, stressful, complicated, and constant interruptions throughout the workday/shift. The employee must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects, demonstrate superior interpersonal abilities-able to interact effectively with children and co-workers of all levels as well as with representatives of other organizations and institutions—ability to get along with diverse personalities: tact, maturity, and flexibility.
